Sophie Ellison, MA (Hons), MRS Certificate in Social & Market Research
Sophie is a skilled researcher with strong analytical and evaluation skills. She has particular experience in facilitating training; conducting detailed case studies and evaluations; in depth interviews, focus groups and scoping exercises; and designing, managing and analysing online surveys. At Blake Stevenson, Sophie has undertaken qualitative and quantitative research in the areas of health care, workforce development, Community Learning and Development (CLD), and equalities. She has recently completed: a training needs analysis of health practitioners working with adolescent patients; and research into the experiences of legacy asylum seeker cases in Glasgow. She is currently working on our study of Community Health Partnerships in Scotland, and providing self-evaluation training and support to projects funded by The Big Lottery Fund. Sophie’s previous experience includes health policy research and development for the Scottish Government and research and development of inquiry topics to assist a Scottish Parliament committee with scrutinizing Government activity and legislation. Sophie graduated from the University of St Andrews with MA (Hons) in Social Anthropology, gaining research experience in a number of culturally and geographically diverse areas, including a research assignment examining the social significance of cultural traditions in Spain.
