Nicola McLelland, BA (Hons) Nicola has a BA (Hons) Economics from the University of Stirling and is an experienced economist with a background in policy and programme development and evaluation in the areas of economy, enterprise, regeneration, local government and labour market issues.
Prior to joining the company, Nicola worked as a Consultant for York Consulting. Before working in consultancy she worked as Economist for the Scottish National Party at the Scottish Parliament where she was responsible, amongst other things, for developing the Small Business Bonus policy. In addition to this she has experience of evaluating a number of ‘disadvantaged group’ government programmes such as Basic Skills and ESOL whilst working for the Government Economic Service (GES) as an Assistant Economist for the Department for Work and Pensions.
At Blake Stevenson Nicola is a key member of the team currently undertaking a large scale study of the 40 Community Health Partnerships (CHPs) in Scotland looking at their progress since inception in 2005 for the Scottish Government. As part of this research she conducted interviews with key stakeholders across Scotland. In addition to this she has also recently completed a literature review as part of our current research into the nature and size of public drug injecting in Glasgow for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
